AlphaTherm
AlphaTherm is as strong as a standard building block and will support UltraFloor at first floor level. It is a lightweight concrete block, designed to be used on the internal cavity wall from ground to first floor.
Performance
- 300% improvement on thermal conductivity compared to standard block.
- Low thermal conductivity of 0.3184w/m°C, due to the block’s low density.
Dry density = 1000kg/m3 (at 3% moisture content). - Popular with bricklayers and being half the weight of a standard block
AlphaTherm is a much safer product to use.
- Improves sound insulation.
- Structural capabilities similar to standard concrete block.
- Requires no special fixing when fitting door frames, unlike other lightweight blocks.
- Can be tracked for first fix electrics in exactly the same way as standard block.
- Alphatherm needs only standard mortar when plastering your home.
We recommend however, to thoroughly wet the block work before plastering commences. - Non-combustible and provides a minimum of 2 hours fire resistance even for 100mm load bearing walls.
