Cavan Crystal Glass Factory

Cavan Crystal run by one of Ireland's top crystal companies, is famous for its delicate glassware; mouth-blown and hand-cut by skilled craftsmen.

With a Palladian architecture style pertaining to the 18th Century, Cavan Crystal Hotel and Glass Factory needed to have both historic appeal and a unique look to encourage visitors to the centre.

This project was designed to look traditional and appear as though it was there for years even though it is a new build. Reclaimed Sandstone Quoins and window surrounds were used throughout and sash windows to further add to the traditional look.

To achieve the look and feel required for the scheme, Heritage Brick Blanchardstown Antique was specified alongside a complementary mortar. Acheson & Glover's Y110 Ernestone Mortar was specified as it would highlight the brick and at the same time further enhance the traditional hand made look of the brick. Ernestone Mortar replicates the appearance of 'Lime Putty' which all buildings of the time period mimicked would have used.
