Due to the great success of the Abbey Court Hotel, Weller Ltd. brought forward the construction of phase 1 of the associated holiday home development. Weller fast tracked the construction process through the use of Acheson & Glover's innovative brick cladding Novabrik. One key stipulation was that the developer required a cladding solution that reflected the traditional brick exterior of the hotel without comprising the fast track construction programme. Novabrik complements perfectly fast track methods of construction including concrete formworks used to construct the apartments.
As Novabrik is a mortarless cladding system this meant that the build programme was able to stay on track in all weather conditions as well as requiring only semi-skilled labourers. Novabrik is a dry build system, reducing further the need for wet trades, it is relatively light but very strong and quick to erect. Overall the development fits perfectly in with the pre-existing hotel and is a perfect example of the fast track construction achievable with Acheson & Glover Novabrik. Novabrik fulfilled all of the developers requirements and has been specified for phase 2 due for completion in 2007.
