Sales of TerraPave - the stunning range of naturally coloured aggregate flags - are literally soaring sky high as architects and contractors throughout Ireland discover the beauty of the trend setting range launched recently by Acheson & Glover.
Among the latest projects to incorporate TerraPave is South Studios, one of Belfast’s trendiest European style apartment developments. Located in Tate’s Avenue, the upmarket project features a large rooftop courtyard paved in TerraPave Genoa and Verona.
The new addition to south Belfast’s skyline is the latest success for Box architects - the design-led Belfast-based practice responsible for fashionable bars such as Tatu and Aero .Its residential portfolio includes the Lucas Building and Antrim Road apartments which won a prestigious award from the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland.
Director Colin Conn says that TerraPave was specially chosen for South Studios because he wanted something fresh and fashionable to complement the angular nature of the building. “We chose TerraPave Genoa because it is light coloured and highly reflective, making it the ideal solution to lighten up the rooftop courtyard. We’ve been very impressed with the product. Aesthetically, it’s extremely pleasing to look at and reflects the modern, European-look that Box has come to be associated with,” adds Colin.
While the ultra modern South Studios is the latest development to feature TerraPave, the distinctive range is proving to be equally at home in more traditional settings as well. Genoa flags have been used in the palatial grounds of the revered five star Scottish Baronial-style Culloden Hotel on the outskirts of Belfast. The product has also being used in a landscaped area surrounding the Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education’s new £20 million Millfield campus.
