The Dublin-based Caring and Sharing Association (CASA) is one of the beneficiaries of an initiative through which County Tyrone-based construction materials manufacturer Acheson & Glover donates money to charity instead of distributing corporate Christmas gifts.

CASA is a voluntary group whose goal is to develop friendships between helpers and disabled people through a variety of social activities. The association operates respite centres in Malahide and Swords and has 700 volunteers in 14 groups throughout the country. The cheque was presented recently to (left to right): Peter Meehan, Director of CASA Breakhouses and Nial Moloney, Commercial Director of CASA by Acheson & Glover's Karen Lee and Paddy Devlin.

Other organisations receiving donations from Acheson & Glover this year include the Lighthouse Club - the construction industry charity - and the Multiple Sclerosis Society Northern Ireland.
