Our manufacturing plant in Fivemiletown has recently been designated an international centre of excellence by a leading American company whose innovative construction industry products are manufactured under licence there.

The highly automated plant in Fivemiletown produces sophisticated retaining wall systems under a joint venture agreement with Anchor Wall Systems (AWS) Inc of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The plant is operated by County Tyrone-based Acheson & Glover, one of more than 50 licensed manufacturers of Anchor products in 17 countries around the globe.

The operation has proved so successful that Acheson & Glover’s American partner is now using the purpose-built 1,300m 2 factory as a showcase facility to promote its products to other potential European licensees.

Recent visitors to the new Anchor European Centre of Excellence include a group of 12 representatives of Belgian, Swedish and Portuguese companies who visited the facility to explore licensing opportunities.
