Holywood resident David Boland of Acheson & Glover presents a cheque to Maeve
Egerton of Help the Aged in Northern Ireland - one of the organisations
benefiting from the construction materials manufacturer’s policy of making
annual charity donations instead of distributing corporate Christmas gifts.
Helped the Aged celebrates its 21st birthday in Northern Ireland during 2007/8
and, to celebrate, has set a challenging fundraising target to raise an extra
£210,000 - £10,000 for each year it has worked in Northern Ireland.
The money will be used to further develop the charity’s local Home Support
services which are designed to support older people to live independently in
their own homes for as long as they wish.

This year, Acheson & Glover – which operates a brick and paving centre in Bangor
– is also making donations to the Lighthouse Club - the construction industry
charity – and Aware, A Dublin-based mental health charity..
